ASKED AND ANSWERED - AN INTRODUCTION TO COLOURING 

Creative colouring is one of our many specialties. While we do provide a complementary consultation session before each appointment, here is a list of responses by our colour specialist to some of the most frequently asked questions.

DO I HAVE TO BLEACH MY HAIR?

'Not really. There are many things we can do without having to bleach your hair. However, you do need to be realistic. If you don't want to bleach your hair and have really dark hair, the colour probably won't stand out as much.'

WORRIED ABOUT HAIR DAMAGE?

'This is something I get asked a lot, and the answer is yes - without the right treatment products your hair will get damaged! But that's not the end of the world. Everyone here, customers included, has been obsessing over PCC ('Protection Cheveux Complexe' from La Biosthetique) which is a treatment product that can be used before, during and after the colouring process to ensure your hair will be strong, shiny and silky smooth even after bleaching.'

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

'Whether the colour will last for 2 months or 2 weeks depends on a wide range of factors, including how often you wash your hair, whether you use special shampoos, as well as your natural hair colour. But don't worry, if you're not happy with the colour you can come back within 10 days and we'll touch it up for free!' 

BUT WHY DOES IT LOOK DIFFERENT?

'Again, you need to be realistic. A lot of the time customers forget, even after consultation, that some colours you see on Instagram just cannot be done on one sitting. Conversely, if you have bleached hair and decide to dye it back to black, expect the colour to fade a little after a few washes - this is all natural!'   

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

'It depends on what you're after and the length and volume of your hair. Highlight for example will typically take about 3 hours. If you want to have your full head bleached and coloured, then you might want to bring your laptop with you and download a few movies because you're gonna be here for a while!'
