WAKU WAKU x GAN 2024 Campaign

At WAKU WAKU, we believe in the power of collaboration to redefine the boundaries of creativity. Born out of a desire to connect hair design as an art form with Australia’s vibrant creative industry, WAKU WAKU is a not-for-profit platform that uplifts young and genderless creatives, fostering a space where they can collaborate, experiment, and create together.

This week, we are excited to unveil our newest campaign, a celebration of bespoke short hair design and artistry. Executed by our talented stylists, the campaign highlights innovative hair designs that embrace individuality and creativity. These designs will also feature in hair tutorials on GAN Academy, our educational platform aimed at inspiring and empowering the next generation of hair designers.

In addition to showcasing these bold hair designs, the campaign includes a stunning series of images spotlighting the interior of our atelier, crafted by the brilliant architect George Livissianis, an acclaimed interior designer known for his sophisticated and functional spaces. The design emphasizes a gender-neutral, minimalist aesthetic, integrating features such as flexible, mobile modules and a monochromatic palette.These visuals beautifully capture the essence of Usfin Atelier as a creative hub.

To bring this vision to life, we collaborated with an incredible team. The editorial photos feature striking outfits styled by Oli Reid, with makeup by the talented Felicity Smith. Behind the lens, Joel and Aidan masterfully captured the essence of our campaign, while videographer Max created an extraordinary video showcasing our talent in action at Usfin Atelier.

WAKUWAKU continues to champion forward-thinking hair designers, providing them with a platform to push creative boundaries and collaborate with like-minded artists. This campaign is a testament to our commitment to fostering genuine connections and celebrating artistic innovation within the industry.
